Yankees enjoy Number 27

The New York Yankees took home their 27th World Title last night when they took down the defending champion Phillies. After a nice easy run in the playoffs and some champagne showers some of the guys – including Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell – headed over to 10ak for some more celebrating.

Susan Finkelstein wanted to see her Phillies in the World Series so much she couldn’t even wait to buy tickets. She took to the internet and went looking for a new way to barter for seats. her method – a sex for tickets ad on Criagslist. Only problem with that process is it is illegal to trade sex for tickets and that is what she found out when police responded to her ad. The 43 year old was arrested after offering to performs certain acts with the officer for two seats to the game. Not only will she not be going to a game, she was charged with multiple criminal offenses, had her mug shot go national, and even made the front page of the Post. Philly must be proud to have this woman as the face of their team going into game 1 tonight in the Bronx!

Steve Phillips mistress shocker

Steve Phillips, former New York Mets General Manager and current baseball analyst for ESPN, has been outed by his 22 year old mistress to his wife. Phillips was apparently carrying on an affair with an ESPN production assistant by the name of Brooke Hundley, here she is on LinkedIn, and she decided it was time to let the world know. So she put together a little letter, read the letter here, to send to his wife!! Brooke apparently was dumped by Phillips over the Summer, but that didn’t stop her from texting, calling, and pulling some nice fatal attraction type moves. When she dropped the letter off at the Phillips’ home she sped away only to crash into a cement pole. You would think after the Steve McNair tragedy some of these high profile guys would learn to keep it in their pants.

Rumors are swirling that Kate Hudson is pregnant with New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez’ baby. Photos of the very skinny blonde show a possible baby bump which has led to the speculation of a possible new addition. Of course everyone is denying that she is pregnant, but we will find out one way or another in a few more weeks. Can’t hide a bump forever.

Serena Williams was at a critical point in her match against Kim Clijsters and was called for a foot fault by the line judge. Well Serena wasn’t happy and went off with tirade filled scream directed toward said judge. Well the judge had enough and ran to the chair umpire because she stated that Serena threatened to kill her. Tennis is a came for ladies and this didn’t fly. She was penalized a point – no big deal right? Well it was match point and that is how it ended. Losing on an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. This is why tennis sucks!

Caster Semenya gender tests results

Caster Semenya exploded onto the world scene of track and field at the World Championships by running some of the fastest 800m times ever recorded for a woman. The 18 year old South African was immediately caught up in controversy that she was not 100% female and gender tests were performed. Well the results are in and Caster is indeed a woman…unfortunately she is also a man. She has no womb, no ovaries, and her testosterone levels are three times higher than an average female. According to reports included in the results state that she has internal testes and has been told to have surgery to fix the possibly dangerous condition. As as result of these finding she may be stripped of her gold medals and her ability to compete in future events is in limbo.

Merriman denies harming Tila Tequila

San Diego Chargers all world linebacker, Shawne Merriman, is denying charges that he in any way harmed reality star Tila Tequila. Hhis story states that he was trying to prevent an intoxicated Tequila from leaving his home until safe transportation could b arranged for her. Tequila took to Twitter on Sunday evening and stated that accusation of her being drunk were crazy because everyone knows she is allergic to alcohol, but other statements go against that statement.

These Tweets from Tila’s account state that she was drunk heading into the Chargers pre-season finale over the weekend. On top of that the pair attended a party on Saturday night where it has been reported that Merriman drank only bottled water while Tequila did enjoy alcoholic beverages including shots of tequila and vodka straight from he bottle. This is now going to come down to a he said she said situation and if it turns out Merriman was keeping a drunk off the roads I say good for him, but if he did choke Tila I think the NFL needs to look at the abuse of women that goes on with NFL players.

LeGarrette Blount sucker punch turns game ugly

The 2009 college football season is off and running with a full slate of games scheduled for this weekend, but Boise State played their first ever ranked opponent at home on the blue turf last night when they battled #16 Oregon. Boise won the game after a late Oregon charge and what should have been a great celebration turned ugly when Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount decided to take some revenge with a sucker punch to Boise St defensive lineman Byron Hout.

After the Boise st. 19-8 victory, which will be their big hope for a BCS bowl bid later this season, Hout appeared to tap Blount on the shoulder and yelled something to him. As the Boise coach, Chris Petersen, was trying to pull him away from Blount the punch was thrown. A left hand cross struck the already turned away Hout and sent him to the turf. Blount hopped back flexing for the fans and had to be restrained from taunting fans by police as he left the field. I guess 17 rushing TD gets you some latitude.

If you like rumors you will really enjoy this one. According to PageSix Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and Friday Night Lights hottie Minka Kelly are secretly engaged.

Jeter has been linked to a long list of celebrities, singers, and random women during his 15 years or so in the Bronx, but this is the first time that marriage has crept into the gossip columns. If reports are true the will get married later this year after the Yankees win the World Series — oh they will win! All I know is if this rumor is true and it behind Jeter’s current hot hitting streak I am all for it!

Michael Beasley Twitter picture

A couple of days ago Michael Beasley, a promising young Miami Heat player, checked into rehab to battle depression. This came after a pictures was posted to his Twitter account showing a new tattoo on his back. the only issue was that in the picture there were two back on a table that looked like marijuana.

Along with the picture Beasley made a couple of comments on his account showing his state of mind – which didn’t seem all that great.

Beasley tweets, “Y do I feel like the whole world is against me!!!!!!! Back on my FTW!!!!! I can’t win for losin!!!!!!!!!!’ … ‘Feelin like it’s not worth livin!!!!!!! I’m done’ … ‘not feelin this at all!!!!!’”

His account has since been closed, but the picture did not go away. Beasley had an incident at the NBA rookie symposium last year where he was caught smoking in his room with two other players and was fined. Hopefully he can get the help he needs and reach his true potential on the court and in life.
