Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live (Videos)

Sarah Palin made a guest appearance on the October 18, 2008 Saturday Night Live episode that was hosted by Josh Brolin. The Republican Vice Presidential candidate was featured in the open segment and during Weekend Update. Her first sketch had Tina Fey doing her spot on imitation of Palin during a press conference when they went backstage and had Lorne Michaels speaking with Palin talking about Tina imitating her. During their conversation Mark Wahlberg shows up looking for Andy Samberg and Alec Baldwin shows up thinking that Palin is in fact Tina Fey. Her Weekend Update appearance was simple where she just said a couple of words and decided not to do the planned sketch. Amy Poehler took over and did a hilarious rap that even featured a Moose. The fallout of the “little pig” voice-mail left by Alec Baldwin might impact the NBC comedy “30 Rock”.Â Baldwin has come under fire for leaving his daughter a seething voice-mail when she didn’t pick up his weekly a call has asked to be let out of his contract with the network.

Â NBC, however, quickly shot down the idea. The actor has became a key asset for the freshman sitcom, stealing the show as an oily but charming network executive overseeing a “Saturday Night Live”-type program.

“Alec Baldwin remains an important part of `30 Rock.’ We look forward to having him continue his role in the show,” NBC said in a statement Wednesday.

NBC can’t afford to lose any of it’s big names since it is already hitting some of the worst rating they have seen in nearly 20 years.Â The critically acclaimed and lightly watched Thursday night comedy line-up need to have Baldwin, if for nothing else to drum up con controversy so someone might tune in.Â I still think Baldwin did nothing wrong because kids today are way to spoiled and need a kick in the ass every now and again to straighten up!

Alec Baldwin is in a lot of hot water after his now famous “thoughtless little pig” voicemail to his 11 year old daughter was release by TMZ.Â Alec has released a statement explaining his actions on his website.

“Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child,” he wrote. “I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.”

I feel for Alec because I believe his failed relationship with Kim Bassinger has grown so evil that it is now putting his child in the middle.Â However as a parent he should be getting more respect from his daughter and she should be able to do one little thing — answer the phone and talk to her father.Â If more parents stepped up and gave their children a bit of a rude awakening every now and again maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Look at all the wonderful kids that were treated like royalty growing up – Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, and Nicole Richie to name a few. Maybe if their parents had put their foot down once they wouldn’t make headlines for being such idiots!
