David Archuleta’s dad caught in sex sting

David Archuleta shot to fame last season on American Idol and his father Jeff was there making headlines for himself. Jeff Archuleta was rumored to be a difficult parent that was very controlling over David’s song choices, lyrics, and how his son was seen each week. Well good old dad was busted for taking time out to fix a back problem – according to his lawyer. Why do you ask? Well he decided to hit up a nice Asian massage parlor, Queens Reiki, for some back rubbing and happy endings back in January. The difficult stage dad pleaded no contest and was fined $538 “because he was sexually gratified by one of the masseuse girls.”

American Idol Final 2 Performances

The finals are in the book and it appears that David Archuleta had the better night with is three ballads – one of which he already sang. David Cook went with three songs that showed his stage presence and musical skills, but the judges weren’t feeling his two choices. Cook did take a dig at Archuleta after his final song saying he wanted to sing something different and not do something he had done already. That comment was brought on by Simon suggesting he should have sang one of his early season hits. Archuleta sang Imagine again and his three ballads showed the stage excitement of grass growing. He was good, but that wheezing drives me nuts and I still don’t think he has the ability to move and sing at the same time.

Who went home on American Idol tonight? They looked back at each of the final three’s welcome home trips to get some emotion in to the show nd Fantasia came back screaming like old trying to bring some excitement. The Top 3 performed this evening and David Cook had the best all around evening. Syesha I think has more overall talent and stage presence than David Archuleta and David’s rendition of Chris Brown’s With You was by far the worst performance of the night. It showed that he will never be able to handle anything other than a ballad and forget about his ability to move. He needs to stand still, control his wheezing , and hope his dad doesn’t beat him. The final two should be David Cook and Syesha, but the tween vote will keep Archuleta in.

David’s dad banned from Idol

American Idol finally has a bit of a scandal. After a season of talk about the past actions of David Archuleta’s father Jeff from Star Search he has finally outstayed his welcome at American Idol. The over involved father that Simon took some shots at earlier in the season for choosing his son’s song has finally been told to not step foot anywhere near rehearsals.

Jeff Archuleta’s intense backstage involvement had become a source of concern for the series, the person connected with “American Idol” said — but it was a lyric change on Tuesday’s show that pushed producers to act.

Despite a warning, Jeff Archuleta insisted on altering “Stand by Me,” one of two songs his son sang on the show Tuesday. By adding a verse from Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls,” the father incurred additional costs for “American Idol,” the person said.

This change could halp David relax a bit coming in to the next show or it could cause him to be crippled with fear that if he doesn’t win his father will beat him senseless for failing to make him rich again. Should be an interesting final two weeks. If David doesn’t win they can go on that VH1 show with Danny Bonaduce about the crazy stage parents.
