American Idol Returns Tonight!

Get ready people because American idol is back. Granted some idol contestants haven’t had the best luck as of late – Taylor Hicks, Katherine McPhee, and Ruben Studdard have all been dropped by their labels. Katherine is unable to sell her wedding pictures to any gossip magazine, Jessica Sierra is known more for her arrest and sex tape than her idol past, and Jordin Sparks debut CD isn’t selling as well as hoped. So I am not holding my breath for the next Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood, but instead for the next Antonella Barba! It’s time to hope for a new Idol scandal that will rock the very foundation of the country.

The producers of Idol have stated that this year the show will improve on the one that seemed to drag last year without any solid stand out performer. Melinda Doolittle was the best singe, but she had the deer in headlights look going every week. Her personality could have been compared to a wet moldy sponge – no spark there. This years talent and personality is supposed to shine. The bad performers that highlight the audtion shows are going to be even worse than previous years!

It all begins tonight as Idol Season 7 kicks off at 8PM!

Well so much for Jessica Sierra not using her one year in rehab as a publicity stunt to help her non existent career. When you make more headlines for a lousy sex tape than for your singing you have to take a step back and go get a real job. Sierra did a little taped segment on The tyra Banks Show and talked about her drug habit, sex video, arrest, and her mother’s ugly past. On a high note for the star she will be back on a weekly series appear on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab! Good for you Jessica.

Jessica Sierra sentenced

Rock bottom was hit by Jessica Sierra and now she is paying the price. The former American Idol finalist that has been in her share of trouble including a sex tape and a public drunkenness arrest has been sentenced to a year in rehab and two years probation.

The Tampa Tribune reported that Perry sentenced Sierra to spend the next year at the Pasadena Recovery Center in Pasadena, California — a facility he had reservations about because it has hosted TV programs in the past. He was concerned that Sierra might use the stint as a means of boosting her career, the paper reported.

“I don’t want this to be some steppingstone for her to have a career as a recovering addict,” Perry said.

Jessica never had a shot as her career never took off and like many idol contestants was soon forgotten. Even Idol winners aren’t getting much love. Ruben and Taylor have both been dropped by their record label as sales fail to meet expectations. These kids have to learn that just because you are on a show watched by millions of people doesn’t mean they are going to stick around once you aren’t on television. We can only hope she doesn’t sleep around in rehab like some people do — Lindsay!

Jessica Sierra’s fall from the brink of super stardom is about the speed up. The former American Idol finalist who has ben involved in bar fights, was arrested last week for being drunk and going after a police officer, had pictures released of her urinating in a parking lot, and now to topper is she has a sex tape. Oh that’s right people a major porn company is going to release the tape soon according to TMZ.

Sources tell TMZ that the video, shot sometime this year, will be released before the end of the year, and just in time for the kickoff of “Idol’s” seventh season.

If Jessica hadn’t been on American Idol no one would even care about all the bad stuff she s doing. So on the bight side of all this news at least she has the potential to make a few bucks that will allow her to buy more beer and repeat this entire cycle again. Anyone else see a new reality show with screwed up idol contestants — like the Surreal Life meets Intervention or something?
