Christina Aguilera flubs National Anthem

February 6, 2011

The most widely watched and hyped sporting event of the year is watched by hundreds of millions of people worldwide and right now Christina Aguilera is wishing less people tuned in.  The former pop star that has seen her music career vanishing as quickly as her movie career was to open Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers with a rendition of the National Anthem – Star Spangled Banner.  Well it took only three lines before she suffered a big flub. She started off fine with her usual over the top note dragging ways, but she sang the following lines:

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last [unintelligible].”

That line should have been the following “O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming.”

Enjoy the show.
