Gary Coleman, the former child actor that shot to fame on the sitcom Different Strokes, has passed away at the age of 42 in Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after suffering an intercranial hemorrhage.
According to his family Coleman fell at his Salt Lake City home on Wednesday and suffered a head injury. He was placed on life support earlier today and was in and out of consciousness. With his early success in the 80’s many would think that he would have been set for life financially, but that was not the case. in 1989 he sued his parents and former advisers and was awarded nearly $2 million for their misuse of his fortune. That money didn’t last and in 1999 he filed for bankruptcy. After his acting career faded he held odd jobs including a security gig that garnered him some unwanted fame after he was filmed jumping onto the hood of a car. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.<
