Patrick Swayze cancer battle

Patrick Swayze danced his way into the hearts of women everywhere when he uttered the lines “Nobody puts baby in the corner” in Dirty Dancing.  However, at the age of 57 Swayze will dance no more as he has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Swayze’s 20 month battle with the disease didn’t stop him from filming The Beast for A&E last year that drew respectable numbers.  He is remember for most for his work in Dancing, but my favorite film was Red Dawn where a small group of of teens take on the Russian and Cuban army – Wolverines! Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

He was a loved man and highly respected. It is heartbreaking to hear of his death. My great aunt just died of Pancreatic cancer, and her sister died of it several years ago. It is such a painful thing to watch, knowing that they are suffering and even with the care of a nurse, it is just knowing that their days are numbered that makes it so hard. Prayers go out to his family.
