Paula Abdul not returning to American Idol

Paula Abdul will not be bringing her supportive and often times confusing opinions back for another season of American Idol.  The former Laker Girl and pop star has announced on her Twitter account that she will be stepping down from the judges’ table.

With the announcement that Kara DioGuardi was returning for next season, her second, rumors began to spread about Paula not wanting to work in that situation again.  On her Twitter account she left the following statement to her followers:

“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all …being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon … What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me … It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month … I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.”
