Miss Indiana Katie Stam is crowned Miss America 2009. The annual pageant was broadcast live on TLC from the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. The crown was placed on her head by 2008 Miss America Kirsten Haglund. The pageant was hosted by Mario Lopez.
