Joaquin Phoenix retires from acting

Joaquin Phoenix made a shocking announcement to Extra! while on the red carpet for his latest film Two Lovers.  Joaquin stated that this will be his final film and that he is going to retire from acting to pursue a music career. As a two time Oscar nominee for Gladiator and Walk The Line it is surprising to see an actor give up a career when he is still performing at the top of his game.  His representative confirmed that Phoenix has made it clear that he is giving up acting, but I doubt this will last forever if his music career doesn’t generate some nice income.  At 34 years old he has a lot of living left to do so, hopefully, we will see him on the big screen again.
