After having famously blown off David Letterman to appear in an interview with Katie Couric, John McCain finally made his visit to the Late Show. McCain offered no real apology or excuse was to why he bailed the previous time and only said “I screwed up” twice. After getting that out of the way Letterman got a bit tough with McCain trying to find out what he was thinking when he selected Sarah Palin as his running mate, why he didn’t defend Obama against nasty comments made by his supporters at a rally, his relationship with convicted Watergate conspirator and right wing radio host G. Gordon Liddy, comments made by Palin about Obama and terrorists, and several other topics. It was probably the toughest interview either candidate has faced. The video is broken into four parts.

Letterman at his very best!!! Especially in the 2nd half! Good to see that both -at least somewhat- kept their sense of humor in all of this though.
What’s with the noise overlaid on the conversation. Was someone afraid McCain sounded too good so they put it on but made it so you couldn’t hear it?
