Tradgedy in California
Posted on October 6th, 2008The financial crisis in this country is costing thousands of people jobs and money, but for some the stress of being out of work with mounting bills is too much. An upscale gated community in San Fernando Valley awoke to find that a local family had been killed by one of their own. Karthik Rajaram, a 45 year old man with an MBA in finance, had been out of work for several months and felt the only way out was to take the lives of his mother-in-law, wife, and three sons.
Rajaram had expressed his frustration and feeling o being trapped in a hopeless situation, and left three separate letters at the scene o he crime. One letter was for authorities in which he took responsibility for the crimes, one was for family and friends expressing why he felt taking the lives of his loved ones as an honorable way out, and the final was his will. His eldest son, Krishna Rajaram, was a Fulbright Scholar at UCLA. All the talk of bailouts for these big financial companies take the front page on all the papers, but the impact of the economics crisis on individuals is sometimes overlooked. This is a sad and tragic reminder of how quickly people can spiral into a horrible place.
