Don Haskins, the college coach that is credited for breaking the color barrier in college basketball, has passed away at the age of 78.

Haskins led an all black starting five to the 1966 NCAA where his Texas Western squad defeated the perennial power house Kentucky.  If this sounds familiar it was the story depicted in the 2006 movie Glory Road.  Haskins coached Texas Western, which is now known as UTEP,for 38 seasons where he complied an impressive 719-353 record. Those wins included trips to 14 NCAA tournaments, seven NIT trips, and seven WAC championships.
