Bristol Palin, the 17 year old daughter of Alaska Governor and VP nominee Sarah Palin, has confirmed she is indeed pregnant.
In a statement from the Palin camp hey addressed rumors of a pregnancy and the decision made by Bristol and her family.
“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support. Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.”

Word of Bristol being pregnant comes on the heels of rumors that Gov. Palin’s fifth child was actually the child of her now pregnant daughter Bristol. Bristol is planning on pulling a Jamie Lynn Spears and will marry the father of her unborn child, Levi Johnston. Some will say this has no impact on the nomination of Sarah Palin for VP, but you have to ask yourself that if family issues will distract her from the bigger picture. What do you think???

This is a plus. As Mark Steyn points out in his recent best seller, America Alone, if our western civilization is demographically to survive in the increasingly “hostile to the west” islamic world — and not end up like the sinking European populations — these are the precise people (the Bristol Palins’) we should thank for increasing their progeny.
