Spragga Benz son shot dead by police

Spragga Benz, Jamaican dancehall artist whose real name is Carlton Grant Sr, lost his son over the weekend after an altercation with police. 

According to reports Carlton Grant Jr. and another man were approached by police in the Kingston 8 area of Jamaica and one began shooting at the police.  Officers returned fire as the suspects fled.  A search found Grant suffering from gun shot wounds and efforts to treat him at a local hospital failed.  He was pronounced dead on Sunday, August 24, 2008.
