Kite surfer improving after accident
This video should be a warning for those of you thinking to go kite surfing during a tropical storm. Strapping what is technically a small parachute to your body in 60 MPH winds is not the best of ideas. In Fort Lauderdale a surfer never made it to the water before Tropical Storm Fay decided to show him what he was messing with by lifting him in the air, throwing him onto the sand, picking him back up, and tossing him into a building. The surfer, Kevin Kearney, had the incident caught by news cameras and is currently in a Florida hospital. Reports are stating that he is improving, but suffered a laundry list of injuries which included spinal fractures, brain swelling, a broken rib and a broken ankle, to name a few.
