Fishburne to CSI
Posted on August 6th, 2008With William Peterson already announcing that he will be leaving his most famous role, Gil Grissom, on CSI the search is on for a replacement. The latest rumor has Matrix star Laurence Fishburne up for the lead role on the CBS crime drama.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Fishburne’s character would be a doctor/scientist who is an outsider and has the same genetic profile as a serial killer.

The show has already seen some of it’s original cast leave and Peterson did take a leave to perform in a play a few seasons ago. the show would be different without Grissom leading the crew, but I think Fishburne has a strong enough personality to give the show a nice shakeup to bring back some of the freshness it seems to lack now.
