Video Of the Day: NYPD versus Bicyclist

July 29, 2008

Being that I am from NY and work a few blocks from Times Square this is just a messed up incident that should not have happened.  This event  took place last Friday during a Critical Mass bike protest and is now making front page news.  A NYC rookie police office, Patrick Pogan, was involved in an ugly incident where he body checked a bike protester off his bike onto the sidewalk.  Pogan claimed he warned the biker to stay right, not to block traffic, and that he tried to run the officer down. Unfortunately video clearly shows Pogan walking towards the biker and hitting him with enough force to send him airborne. Check out the video if the incident here.

A rookie cop – the son of a highly respected New York City detective – has been stripped of his badge and gun after being caught on video viciously attacking a bicyclist who was part of a Times Square demonstration.
