by Celeb on June 2, 2008

Legendary blues guitarist and singer Bo Diddley has passed away at the age of 79 at his home in Florida. Diddley had suffered from health problems for years. Even if you weren’t a music fan you knew Diddley from his memorable TV and movie cameos. The most famous of which would be his series of Nike commercials featuring Bo Jackson with the tag line “Bo don’t know Diddley.”

The legendary singer and performer, known for his homemade square guitar, dark glasses and black hat, was an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, had a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and received a lifetime achievement award in 1999 at the Grammy Awards. In recent years he also played for the elder President Bush and President Clinton.
