Johns Hopkins defeats Duke
Johns Hopkins Lacrosse defeated the number one ranked and heavily favored Duke squad today at Gillette Stadium 10-9. Duke came into he game led by a group of fifth year seniors, a ten game winning streak, an 18-1 record, and were the top scoring team in the country. However, Hopkins employed a slowdown game, tight defense, and amazing goal tending to claim a 10-9 victory. A somewhat controversial goal at the end of the third quater as time expired for Hopkins was a key play.
The Jays will take their eight game winning streak into the final against the Orangemen of Syracuse, who defeated the Virgina in double overtime, to defend their national title. The game will be played at 1PM on Monday.
