American Idol Final 2 Performances
The finals are in the book and it appears that David Archuleta had the better night with is three ballads - one of which he already sang. David Cook went with three songs that showed his stage presence and musical skills, but the judges weren’t feeling his two choices. Cook did take a dig at Archuleta after his final song saying he wanted to sing something different and not do something he had done already. That comment was brought on by Simon suggesting he should have sang one of his early season hits. Archuleta sang Imagine again and his three ballads showed the stage excitement of grass growing. He was good, but that wheezing drives me nuts and I still don’t think he has the ability to move and sing at the same time.

David A leaves me cold. I’m sick of his ballads. He sounds the same every week. Imagine wasn’t nearly as good this week as it was 12 weeks ago.
Agreed. I didn’t understand why simon was hating and picking on cook so much. i still thought Cook was better. much better on the first song, little better on the second and i loved his answer about growing on the competition and singin something new rather than being safe and singing something he already have b4, like Archuleta (as we could already expect) did! COOK COOK COOK! thats my vote!
I don’t get why they were allowed to sing a song already used. Make it three rounds of Clive choice, best song o the season choice, and judges choice - get rid of the new song writer one. Didn’t they do that lst year with the singing of the Idol winner song?
I get fed up how the judges fawn over David A. He is boring. He would make a nice Christian singer and that’s about it. David Cook is the one who should win, but the judges seemed to have their minds made u a long time ago! Unfair! Simon has picked at David C. from the beginning.
Did anyone else notice that David Archuleta’s televised performance was different from what they showed at the end of the episode during the recap?
I’ve seen this during his “Angels” performance too….
What gives?!?!? So I’m guessing they do two “live” performances, and there’s still edits before the final cut reaches TV……thoughts?
Ok, here’s the thing. The one that is more likely to succed as an artist is David Cook. And if he doesnt win this competition then, appart from me being really disappointer, the show will lose credibility.
Okay.
All I have to say is….You have to admit that they are both amazing singers. If you actually LISTEN to their voices rather than of comparing them to each other you’d hear that they both have their good and bad things.
David Archuleta honestly, and don’t lie, is probably the better singer out of the two. He’s more consistent with his singing, and if you really LISTEN to him, you’d hear that he has the voice that can actually become something. He’s still 17 ! His voice will still grow.
David Cook is good, I guess. But honestly? Chris Daughtry did a better job at having the roll of the “rocker” on AI than David C. did. Mostly because David Cook almost NEVER picks songs that realllyyy match his voice. You know what I mean? I’m not saying I don’t like him, because I do…a little.
I personally like David A a lot better. I’m not overly obsessed, I promise. But I’ve loved him since the beginning of AI, since he sang Waiting On The World To Change. And if you really look at it….David A has grown so much in the season. That means he can grow so much more later on, and can you imagine just how GOOD he will be?
They both did great in the finale <3
No doubt they are both talented, but as far as which should be the American Idol it should be Cook. Archuleta is a one trick pony - he can sing a ballad - his wheezing has to get fixed - but ballads are his thing. He is unable to move, can’t sing anything up tempo (remember his attempt at Chris Brown), always looks petrified on stage when he has to talk, and has no personality.
Cook has a stage presence and confidence about him that makes you believe he could be a successful main stream recording artist with a much bigger audience. He takes more chances, sings a variety of songs, and is able to work the crowd.
If you had to spend money to see either one in a 2 hour concert who would you have more fun watching?
