Well the long season of American Idol which has seen steadily falling ratings, lack of drama, and a predictable final comes to and end over the next two nights. So the battles of David Cook and David Archuleta will take place tonight. What songs will be sung? What surprises will be had?

As for the songs known so far David Archuleta will go with Imagine in hopes of finding early season success and David Cook will be original with the first U2 song ever to be performed on Idol when he performs I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looknig For. There other songs will come from an online vote that selected 10 choices and Clive Davis chooses the final.

Wednesday night is full of filler, filler, and even more - you guessed it - filler. Carrie Underwood will return to sing Last Name for the second time this week - she sang this at the ACM Awards. A group number featuring two idols from each of the previous six seasons will include Bo Bice. Another tribute song similar to the one with Celine Dion and Elvis. The Jonas Brothers will also be appearing.Paula Abdul will debut another new song and will perform with the Top 12 finalists. One Republic will be making an appearance. Finally the Top 5 which each be singing a duet will a surprise guest - assumptions lean towards the mentors from this season. When all is said and done David Cook will be named the American Idol — what no one knew that yet?
