The summer box office season is off to the most impressive start in history thanks to Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man. The superhero flick was expected to bring in around $80 million domestically of the weekend, but that proved to be a gross underestimate. The movie took in $104 million in the US, but when you add in international ticket sales of $97 million, the film grossed over $200 million! Given the stellar reviews of the film and expected strong word of mouth expect another monster week. The sequel is already planned for 2010 release and make sure you stay to the end because there is a 40 second bonus feature after th credits.
