Blade gets three years!

Looks like the federal pen will be getting a new celebrity guest for the next three years.  Wesley Snipes was sentenced to the maximum of three years in his tax case and a possible fine of up to $5 million.

“For nearly a decade, Snipes has engaged in a campaign of criminal tax conduct combining brazen defiance with insidious concealment,” the prosecutors say. “By these means, Snipes has escaped paying more than $15 million in income tax to the IRS and has pursued an intended fraudulent harm to the United States Treasury of more than $41 million.”

Snipes had been previously acquitted of two felony tax charges and many felt he would only receive a slap on the wrist for the three misdemeanor charges h was facing.  However, they decided to make an example of the actor and now he will spend some serious time thinking about it.
