Chris Cornell version of Billie Jean

Posted on March 26th, 2008

For those of you that haven’t heard the version of Billie Jean that David Cook sang last night on American Idol I thought I would get the original for your. This is Chris Cornell who Ryan mentioned in his introduction last night, but wasn’t mentioned when the judges spoke. David picks very original arrangements of songs, but by no means is he creating these himself as some might think. He didn’t an excellent job of covering Chris Cornell. though.

I think you need to listen again with the other ear open to the introduction, when Ryan and David DID give acknowledgement to Chris. There WAS a change done by David to the song… personally I believe that David did a better job at it. A song tells a story and you should be able to feel it through the singer… I felt more from David’s version. Yes I listened clously to Chris’s song and it seemed to drag too much, David fould a good speed and rocked it some… That makes both outstanding artists.
