Video shows Marine throwing puppy off a cliff
Posted on March 4th, 2008Now this is far from celebrity gossip, but I am looking to generate some discussions on your views of this video. Two Marines were shown in a video, one marine holding a puppy while the other comments, the puppy it then thrown off a cliff or large hill. This video is making world wide headlines and causing many different opinions. I am curious as to your feelings about the video and about the actions of the Marines. Please be advised that this video is not for the faint of heart.

First of all prjindigo, Florida? There is a real shocker given your excellent reputation for intelligence. It’s legs don’t flail because that is the limp response puppies have when picked up by the scruff, like when their mother’s do it as a reprimand. You must be a military man or at least a wannabe, as you fixate on what they wear instead of how disgusting their actions are. Dead puppy or live, it is still disgusting that anyone would throw the poor thing like that, and then edit the sound and put it on youtube. I guess by retarded you mean exposing someone who is in a position of respect as a sick m*f*, instead of ignoring it. Yea, go throw some puppies off a cliff.

ARE YOU F’CKIN SERIOUS??!! The U.S. Marines should be held to a higher standard. If they are willing to throw a “cute” little puppy to its’ death, what do you think they’d do to a “nasty” arab? I’m an Irish American male and I’m suspicious of them! This ’soldier’ should be Courts-martialed and beaten. This ‘boy’ of a soldier should be thrown off a cliff and laughed at. What a coward. I’m ashamed that he is a Marine. Jesus, what a coward.

The sounds are all wrong in that clip of the “puppy throwing.”
I’ve been involved with dogs since I was 12, breeding and training, and there is no way the sounds in that Youtube video were coming from a real puppy. If you actually hurled a puppy by the scruff of its neck, the first sound you would hear would be a loud scream as it was launched, because you would have very nearly torn its neck off. Notice, though, the puppy is completely silent as it is thrown. The ridiculous yelping noises don’t start until after the pup is airborne.
That’s your second problem, because just as a human needs to take repeated breaths to keep yelling, a dog must be breathing in order to yelp. (Imagine trying to scream while spinning head-over-heels in the air.) The puppy would have gone completely stiff as it flew, tensing up and spreading its legs to try to cushion the fall. Definitely no gasping for breath and yelping.
Final problem – there is no way that a crap camera like the one used to shoot that video would be able to pick up an airborne puppy’s faint yelping from dozens of yards away, yet the “yelping” barely decreases in volume during the puppy’s flight.
I don’t know what was thrown – probably a dead puppy – but I am absolutely certain that there is no way on earth the noises in the video were made by the puppy we see there.
