Van Halen tour over before it got going
The biggest reunion concert of the year featuring old aged rockers trying to recapture their glory days has already come to an end as Van Halen has canceled their world tour.
Van Halen has not made an official announcement about this, but according to a representative for Ryan Shaw, who was to open the volatile hard-cork band’s upcoming shows, the tour has been canceled.

Who didn’t see this one coming from a mile away? A group that imploded in it’s prime because of internal issues between David Lee Roth and the rest of the band had no real shot to make this tour work. Should be interesting to hear why the tour has been stopped. I am going to hazard a guess that Roth will be to blame.

First off, “over before it’s begun”? It’s been rolling for six months already.
Second, I don’t see any mystery here. Eddie Van Halen is one of the classic rock prima donnas. He envisions himself as inheritor of the revolutionary guitarist mantle handed down from Clapton to Page to him. But can you imagine Jimmy Page or Pete Townsend or any of the other greats putting up with this level of talent from their frontman? It’s bad enough to expect him to play the same stock guitar solo from Jump at the end of all eighty-four stops but to do so behind an out-of-tune, washed up “showmen” may simply be too much. Mix in the requisite three ring circus of rock-n’-roll idiocy (I counted a flag-waiving, a giant phallic microphone and a mic-stand twirl in that five minute clip alone), and it’s something else:
Embarrassing.
Is Eddie quitting? Maybe.
But I suspect it has nothing to do with his ex-wife.
Sorry but Eddie Isn’t The Problem
I should have clarified that it had been running awhile. Being from NYC and having all of the area shows canceled is what I was referring to with the over before it started.
Sorry
