Monster destroys the box office
Posted on January 21st, 2008J.J. Abrams and his mysterious monster controlled the holiday box office defeating all other new comers. Katherine Heigl’s “27 Dresses” and Katie Holmes “Mad Money” were never in contention for the top spot. “Cloverfield” took in a record setting $41 million for a January weekend and will take the record for MLK weekend. Katie Holmes didn’t get a boost from the Scientology crowd as her new film flopped coming in in seventh place.
