Treasure holds on to the top spot
Posted on January 6th, 2008The Nicolas Cage treasure hunting sequel held on to the top spot at the box office for the third straight week. Will Smith gave it a good run, but since he is all by himself he fell a bit short with “Legend”. The critically acclaimed comedy “Juno” had an impressive week in it’s first wide release weekend. “I Am Legend” has already topped the $200 million mark, “National Treasure” is getting close and is only $4 million shy of the take from the original, and a “Alvin Sequel” is all but guaranteed as it has grossed around $180 million to date.

5. “One Missed Call,” $13.5 million

8. “The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep,” $6.3 million
9. “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” $5.4 million
10. “Atonement,” $5.1 million
