The custody dispute between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline took a scary turn last night. For pop princess Britney Spears, who has had her share of issues over the last year, was rushed to Cedars Sinai Hospital last night after police were called to her home. According to report Spears was to turn her children over at 8PM and refused to do so. It took police nearly 3 hours to settle the dispute over the children and that is when Spears was taken out on a gurney.

Celebrity watcher website TMZ.com said Spears had been taken to a hospital for a “medical hold,” which it described as a mental evaluation, and drug testing.

Police “found her earlier this evening at her home under the influence of an ‘unknown substance’,” after being called when she returned her two young sons to their father, TMZ reported.

After a three-hour stand-off, Spears handed over the children, aged two and one, and was wheeled into an ambulance. Television footage showed Spears being carried on a gurney.

Earlier in the day Spears arrived at court to give a deposition that lasted less than thirty minutes. you have to wonder if anything occurred during the proceedings that pushed her over the edge. This is a sad turn in an already sad story for the once promising singer.
