Caitlin Upton is an idiot – Miss Teen USA
Posted on August 28th, 2007Caitlin Upton, representing the glorious state of South Carolina in the Miss Tenn USA 2007 pageant, gave this amazing response to a question on education in this country. You can see she really gave this question some serious thought before deciding to tell her answer to the world.
Caitlin Upton is living proof that there is no replacement for a good education – not even good looks and a nice rack.

What a complete idiot! A perfect example of some of today’s supposedly educated teens.

Yeah…and you’re so bright that you obviously felt that you didn’t need to edit your (barely) two paragraph lead-in.
The point here is that people sometimes are rendered speechless and, subsequently, thoughtless when confronted with a question in which they have to answer in front of a packed audience and a national t.v. viewing public. I’m sure it’s happened to everyone who has ever publicly spoken, so to harp on this event is idiotic in itself. This fixation on a clearly meaningless occurrence unfortunately displays how mindless and moronic our own society is.
Cut the kid a break. She has probably never experienced the pressure of performing spot on in front of millions of people. Besides, I’m betting that most of the people that are criticizing her “stupidity” wouldn’t have had any better of a response themselves; the only difference is that most of you would have actually tried.

People are always waiting for someone like this to make a mistake and celebrate. She handled it with dignity and class saying she was overwhelmed and rolled with the punches. She made fun of herself and was strong. Now all the haters made her famous because she is now doing a geography piece for People Magazine, she was articulate and showed her personality on MTV and who knows what is next. She was an honor student in High School with a 4.0 average, president of SkillsUSA, and has a full acedemic scholarship to ASU. It was her first time on national TV and she froze ,she didn’t hurt anyone but herself. If I had a dollar for everyone I said Blah, blah, blah to I could buy the losers who picked on her a life. Kudos to Miss Upton for turning this around on the malicious mean-spirited thugs who’s thoughts are ghost written by some dork disc jockey. And I hope their sister, mother or anyone for that matter never gets stage fright and has to deal with people like them. And kudos to MTV,The Today Show and People Magazine for countering this culture of making fun of people.
