“Grindhouse” disappoints as “Glory” reigns

Posted on April 8th, 2007

The most hyped move of year, “Grindhouse”, opened with a disappointing 4th place finish.  The Tarantino/Rodriguez three and a half hour double feature took in well below the low end estimates with only $11.6 million in sales.  This just goes to show you that if you plan on making a three hour movie make sure it has a big ship that sinks, sex in a car, and Leo freezing to death while Kate sits on a door big enough to hold thirty people.  Keeping its place atop the box office was the Will Ferrell and Joh Heder skating comedy “Blades of Glory”.
