Did Jackie Chan lie about his stunts?
Posted on April 4th, 2007Jackie Chan is best known for his mind blowing stunts and aerial moves that he claims to perform without assistance. That claim is being put to the test now that a stuntman has come forward and said he is behind some of Jackie’s moves.
Stuntman Bruce Law said in his Chinese-language blog that he’s doubled for stars including Chan, Chow Yun-fat, former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh and veteran Hong Kong actor Andy Lau.
He did not say in which movie he doubled for Chan.
The blog entry has sparked Chinese media coverage exploring if Chan isn’t as daring as his reputation suggests.
Chan’s representative did respond and say that Jackie only uses stunt doubles in he US because of insurance reasons, but that every film filmed is Asia is all Jackie. Jackie is getting up there in age so if he needs a little help to climb a wall I don’t see the harm in that, but he is best known for doing his own stunts. If he isn’t really performing them it does take the cool factor down a notch in his movies and since his acting sucks there really isn’t much left.

Is this even Jackie??!

Jackie Chan does all the major life threatening stunts. He has used stunt doubles in the past due to injury while the film was on a tight schedule. Nowadays, he also uses stunt doubles quite often due to his age.
I really don’t think we should blame him for that. I mean this guy slid down a 100 ft pole, fell off a clock tower, hanged from a helicopter, slid down a building e.t.c.
