Looks like the short lived and very active retirement is officially coming to an end. The rapper has declared that he is releasing a new CD this year.

Details are beginning to surface about Jay-Z’s long-rumored comeback album, which will be his first since announcing his retirement three years ago and becoming president of Def Jam. The new disc is reportedly titled “Kingdom Come” and due in November via Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam. It is expected to feature production from Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Kanye West and Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

Just because he wasn’t releasing his on CD doesn’t mean he wasn’t busy the last few years.  I wasn’t counting, but by my estimate I think he was featured in around 300 songs.  During his retirement he became the president of a record label, dated Beyonce, recorded with the top stars in the business, and started pushing products for Apple. While he was doing that I watched a lot of television and it was incredible!

Get used to this picture - he will tour again!
