In the real world, what non-famous people call it, filing a false police report and being caught with cocaine would put you in jail with a very nice cell-mate for a few months.  However, if you are a flamboyant 80’s lead singer with a failed Broadway show under your belt you just get a slap on the wrist.  Boy George was just sentenced to a little community service picking up trash in NYC.

Boy George will perform his court-ordered community service by picking up trash on city streets in the August heat, a sanitation spokesman said. The one-time Culture Club singer will be issued a shovel, broom, plastic bags and gloves when he reports for five days of work on Aug. 14, department spokesman Vito Turso said. “This is the epitome of community service,” Turso told the Daily News for Monday editions. “It’s not like he’s going to be working in an air-conditioned office.”

The work will take place in downtown NYC so he will be close to the village and some lovely shopping.  Does anyone even know if this guy knows how to work a broom or a shovel?  The only thing he has raked into a pile cocaine and I don’t think that counts.  What they should do is have him do free makeovers at Sephora….the man has a way with makeup.
